A photographic exhibition of people in Europe

The photographs which are displayed here have been selected from about few hundred others. The series was started in 1981 and has been continued ever since.

I have photographed the people you will see in this exhibition in totally different circumstances and I know or knew some of them personally. I only got to know the others as I took their photographs. However I only encountered the majority during the actual moment of the exposure, just as long as it took the camera to preserve this moment. This moment has long since been forgotten by the people shown in this photograph. All the same the camera and the Internet now make new meetings possible with the photographs, those who were photographed and yourselves. It could well be that you will remember this new meetings a little longer!
